Yay! After weeks of threats, exhaustive debate, backdoor dealings, White House meetings, and angry phone calls, Washington D.C. has decided to raise taxes on a smaller portion of people.

All the freaking while we spend more than a trillion dollars over our budget every god damned year. All the freaking while we have exalted welfare programs that combined are the #1 contributor to the debt and we haven't even began discussing how to deal with those huge steaming piles of shit.

Spending cuts need to happen but avoiding sequestration is very important for the US's "recovery" to continue limping along.

That seems based on the presumption that no other budget cuts will be enacted. Which I'm sure you'll argue is the case, and that is a defensible position. And one that I don't necessarily disagree with.

However, eternal optimist that I am, I am hoping to have my cake and eat it too.
