I don't think people are more entitled, I think they are less.
Nobody my age expects to retire at 55, 65 or even at all.
Nobody expects their employer to value them as anything more than a cog. We have basically abandoned the concept of organized labour. Hell, we have abandoned the concept of even having a stable, long term job.
We have abandoned the notion that our industries and livelihoods need to be protected, in favour of competition on a global level.
Generationally, we place a huge value on the environment, with many people arguing passionately that we need to decrease our standard of living in order to help others.
Crime and violence has plummeted.
Racism and sexism are at all-time lows.
We make less money than the previous generation, and expect less help from the government. Even though we need the help more, all we tend to ask for is the same treatment as our parents.
Basically, the idea that we are self entitled is nothing more than a strawman to knock around, in order to further an ideology nobody wants.
