To be fair it was a situation where you had absolutely no reliable witnesses. When it is a highly politicised situation where everybody has an angle, even if a court does decide to prosecute it's rare to get a conviction.
I've always struggled to have any real sympathy for her though. She was one of those Americans who criticises the US for interfering in the domestic politics of foreign countries, and then she went and tried to interfere in the domestic politics of a foreign country.
