Is Revolution Dead In The US/UK/CA?

Well, the intolerable acts really were pretty intolerable. But I think a lot of the rhetoric against them was based in the concepts of basic rights that were already floating about. Thus the instant consternation. The US bill of rights does a much better job of plainly spelling it out, but its not like it was some sort of revolutionary new idea. People had already been fighting similar battles in Britain against the Crown on similar grounds for a very long time.

Lets all remember in this discussion, the american revolutionary war was not ignited by taxation or abusive government. Those were the fuel, there were protests and anger for a long time, but it wasnt until the british attempted to forcibly disarm the colonists that the fuel ignited.



Revolution isnt dead, we just dont use it until it is absolutely necessary, or until we realize we soon will not be capable of doing it.

Revolution can be transcended with irrelevancy.

Revolution has always led to more tyranny, just in different forms and methods. It has always posited a replacement form of rule, afterall. Slid into meaninglessness, institutions can be revolutionarily more powerless against irrelevancy than revolt. If institutions in demise react in a way that threatens lives, however, sometimes armed revolt is just inevitable (and needed).

Otherwise, I think revolution can be transcended/replaced with irrelevancy by using tools such as self-actualization, or technology, or compassion, or all-of-the-above. In more developed countries, I think it's already happening.
