The argument between pro-gun and anti-gun boils down to long-term solution vs. short-term solution. In the long run, less guns means less gun related deaths (see British society). But in the short run, since there are so many guns around, any ban on guns will not have its intended effects.
Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.
