Lol neo confederates. TThe Civil War was not about federal vs state. The fugitive slave legislation that passed only decades earlier essentially had the South using the feds to force northern states and Western territories to recognize the legitimacy of slaves. In other words, states rights mattered not compared to the economic desire for black labor. Historical idealism is irrelevant. Stick to the facts.

The Civil War was about slavery and f**k else. There was incredible social unrest about slavery and whether new states and territories would be slave states or free states. In Kansas, "Bleeding Kansas" as it was later to be called, abolitionists migrated to the state with ample arms in supply. Skirmishes and border wars were fought. True-blue-revolutionary abolitionists like John Brown were splitting skulls with broadswords. It was events such as these, conspicuously and indisputably centered upon slavery and its abolition, that forced The Civil War.

All of that horseshit about "states rights" is the rationalization of traitors and racists. Living in Oklahoma, I am damn well tired of hearing about it.
