Let me rephrase this. How is mandatory firearms training going to cause people to not take their gun and shoot other people with it?

It doesn't seem to have any rational connection to the purpose you want to accomplish, which is to reduce violence. It's just another onerous regulation that restricts a right to those who can afford to pay.

I didn't specify mass shootings I said violence.

There is no reason for mandatory training to be required unless it will reduce violence, which it won't. That's the point.

Someone who shoots themselves in the foot is not a victim of violence. All mandatory training could possibly accomplish would be to reduce accidents a bit.

And most gun enthusiasts learn all that stuff as children.

See, this discussion highlights a point I made earlier. There is no motivation to reduce violence or fatalities, it's just a matter of political control, which is why it is an issue of partisan party politics and not a valid issue in any way.
