I guess what I'm trying to figure out is: was he really the only one taking them?

When looking at baseball, they were almost ALL taking them so I find it hard to believe that in a different sport he was a lone wolf (well, the U.S. team with him).

That said, "winning" simply because all other things being equal you took a drug that the other guy didn't--just doesn't seem like "winning" to me. Kinda defines "cheating," no?

one - almost everyone was/is doping, cycling is one of the "dirtiest" sports around. armstrongs whole us postal team was, he was the ringleader of it, making sure everyone on the team was taking something

but for me anyway, the worst part is that he denied it over and over and over, making countless denials, tv commercials, and hiding behind his Livestrong charity

when all the evidence suggested that he was dirty

and then turns out they were lying the whole time

at this point i dont actually care a whole lot, itd be like if barry bonds made a public confession. or any of the other baseball guys that testified before congress shaking their finger into a tv camera like how dare you question me

his charity has done some great work, but he will always be a liar and a cheater to me

Somewhat in Lance's defense, since he grew up and competed in my part of the world he was a well known phenom from the get go and was actually born with some genetic advantages beyond what the dope improved on. He was dominating his competition even when he was a teenager when he first switched from being a triathelete to focusing on cycling, so one would have to assume doping wasn't part of his regime back then. I have friends who competed against him back during that period and he could destroy his competition when he was 16 racing against people in their 20s. Somewhere along the way, Lance decided being dominating wasn't enough, he had to be the greatest there ever was, which meant he had to dope. Since he's ego is as large as his talent, that probably shouldn't come as a surprise.

Lance hasnt fessed up yet.

And anyway it doesnt matter since no action will be taken whether he does or doesnt.

He's fessing up next week. On Oprah, no less. But of course.

I heard on the radio one of Armstrong's Tour de France teammates has written a book. He outs Armstrong in the book, BUT he also says everyone, everyone in the sport of cycling in Europe dopes. No exceptions.

That said, Armstrong's lying all these years, AND I guess he went out of his way to coverup his doping to the point of ruining other people's lives. That's what's going to sink him as far as the rest of his life goes.
