Meh, I could give a shit about Morgan or whether or not there's a heart involved. 8,500 deaths doesn't capture the full extent of the harm inflicted because it ripples across society through the effects in their families, friends, etc. In terms of comparison it's a useful stat but you guys use the stats to suggest it's really nothing and approaching it from that vantage point doesn't help your cause much, probably hurts it more. Case in point? Three strikes laws at their inception especially as it relates to California. Nobody seemed to be doing shit so people got together, put TONS of pressure on the political establishment, and then we went too far.
Keep ignoring these issues like this thread does and we'll see just how far we can go down that road.
