How much continuous overtime should an employee be allowed?

The modern progressive answer to corporate greed and "slave wages" is to replace the greedy capitalists with the government. Such a bright idea...not. Why does being a liberal in contemporary times mean I have to support a large government? Why does it mean I have to support doctrines borrowed from socialism and/or communism? The modern day liberal achieves social equality at the cost of economic freedoms. No longer can an employee negotiate with an employer directly regarding appropriate pay based on their job history and credentials, academic or otherwise. Nope, the government will do that for you and because the government took care of it, it means that your resume may justify you making $20/hr but too bad. Others in the thread cana rgue over property rights, etc. but to me not being able to talk on-on-one with an employer and come to an agreement is not an advance in individual liberties.

Unfortunately with the Southern Strategy having folded it's self into every corner of our political process... it will have to be the government who actually pulls us towards more socially responsible action as a society. There are multiple generations of people in this country who have grown up with the belief that the only type of good person is one who is attempting to make a healthy life for themselves of strictly their own resources, as savage as they need to be. Means to an end.
