What use is a philosophy that is unable to account for actual human behaviour, let alone a political philosophy? You can't argue for certain tangible goals (such as phasing out SS) and then back away from the tangible when it becomes problematic.
It is like saying "killing is wrong," but then refusing to explain how killing should be minimized or avoided. At that point it is just a platitude.

To fix SS:
1) raise the retirement age.. 70?
2) raise the tax cap
3) stop paying SS to the people who don't need it. put a cap on it.. if someone retires and gets over a $100,000 a year pension, then they don't collect SS too. $100,000 a year pension that person doesn't need SS.. Is that fair? no.. To F'ing bad. I pay school taxes still, even though my kids are long out of school.. I pay property taxes yet I never once needed the fire department.
1+2+3 will easily fix SS for the next 100 years.

Best way to fix SS is to get rid of it. Those that want a government pension should do so voluntarily or even better, through private means.
