Well then I stand corrected because I admit I wasn't 100% on the entire context of this discussion. I was simply going on the appearance of a contradiction on your part specifically in regards to the correlation/causation effect.
But I will say that there are people, on the gun control side, that constantly try to make comparisons between the U.S. and other countries with the sole reasoning that correlation does equal causation. I bet I could easily find examples just in the threads on this site.

that's something i've noticed in the years since i've been posting on forums. people are far less willing to engage data that is uncomfortable and instead do everything in their power to discredit it. it's really a shame because it weakens the authority of the scientific approach.
