all human culture is based on some pretty similar roots. i feel like aliens would be so f**k strange to us in their behavior we likely wouldn't be able to form any serious ties with them.

Well, according to some people aliens fly here, have a quick look round, then fly away again. A bit like me the one and only time I visited Scotland.
I believe if there are aliens, then they're totally unimpressed and won't be bothering us.
Now, I have some paint drying that needs watching. Toodle pip.

You better hope they don't send a von Neumann probe. That would be the worst thing that could happen.
I don't think it would really affect human society that much unless they could come in strength, which is likely impossible. At least I hope so.
