If you have a person who is willing and able to do the job, why would you care what that persons gender is ?
This policy was never based on anything more than bigotry, and I'm glad that it's gone along with don't ask don't tell. It's so obviously the right thing to do, and the only thing that surprises me is that it hasn't been done earlier.
