Here's the most depressing thing, JD. It reminds me of the Prohibition days in Chicago (no I wasn't alive back then) when Al Capone had everybody on his payroll--the cops, the judges, the jurors (!!!). The guy literally got away with murder multiple times and every crime under the sun.
It was only because the Feds came in that he went down and Chicago ultimately got cleaned up. But you had somebody bigger than local gov't that could swoop in.
There's nobody above the federal gov't to swoop in and take down the corruption. That's scary.
