Yeah I agree that it doesn't matter what the head of the SEC thinks about foreign policy anymore than what the Secretary of Defense thinks about abortion rights.


Unless you're just a one issue person who hates to see anyone who disagrees with you on that one issue ever hold any position of prominence anywhere, why worry about such things?

It goes towards a persons overall character. If you're willing to defer to a position like that on a matter concerning the military, war, and lives lost I just don't trust you as much. It's not hard to research the topic...and she already knows a shitload in the world of finance.

It really just comes down to judgment. It makes me question the caution she urges in protection and defense of US consumers when she easily accepts that position which seems to conflict with the general notions imbued therein.

After 9/11 I've taken foreign policy very seriously. It's a classic case of us overextending ourselves and poor strategic strategies as well as tactics. It's neglect and incompetence I associate with the '08 collapse. I don't think I'm reading too much into it.
