Because compared to them, we're sitting pretty. And all the "crises" supposedly to explode here haven't happened.

So in other words your solution has failed miserably and the crises you claimed would happen never showed up.

I like austerity but no one is really practicing it except the Baltic states (to a degree) and their economies are now back on track.

Actually somebody like Krugman would argue that he's not doing enough, that this recovery could have started long ago and been far more robust if Obama & Co. had gone bigger.

So before we go patting anybody on the back, remember that some feel Obama ended up doing what her normally does--just barely enough.

Although I guess that's better than strapping on the austerity suicide vest.
