USPS To Cut Saturday Mail Delivery

Hell, I wouldn't have a problem if they cut mail delivery to Mon, Wed and Fri for regular mail. Not like my world will end if I don't get letters on Tue and Thu.

Just another example of Congress not being able to do ANYTHING quickly..

This has been talked about for YEARS, and should have been done YEARS ago.. But here we are, in 2013 and still talking about it and waiting for Congress to do something, anything. Which BTW they may not do, because as the article mentions Congress can still block this.

well technically congress is still blocking it

it's been 15 years since both houses passed appropriations bills. senate hasn't passed a budget since democrats came into control. it's all just continuing resolutions. and the USPS has decided that means "we can do whatever we want, Congress"

i'm not sure that it means that

USPS should be made completely private and all mail companies be able to deliver "first class mail" to mailboxes

Yeah, politics aside about those nasty unions and pensions and so on, the USPS has many other problems. Problems that could be solved by consolidating and closing post offices and distributions centers.. But then that cost jobs and that will get Congress involved again..
