You're looking at education as learning biology and maths etc., whereas it encompasses a whole host of life skills.
Attending a mainstream school can be very valuable for children for mild to moderate learning disabilities, who have the same rights as everyone else to an education so they can achieve their potential.
A couple of questions.
Do you not have learning support assistants in the US?
The term retard is considered extremely offensive this side of the great divide, so I don't like to see it, but I assume this is not the case over there?
