No, the current situation is purposely set up to keep these people working and living here as 2nd class citizens and a source of cheap labor that can be abandoned or otherwise abused at will.
And it's not "given amnesty", it's afforded their rights as human beings and being included in a society that they are clearly involved in building. They are vital stakeholders in our system and they need to be treated fairly under US law. Anything less than equitable treatment is a violation of US law. Our current immigration laws are unconstitutional. The US was originally conceived to have open borders. Humans have an inherent right to migrate in order to survive and should be able to travel anywhere in the world unhindered. Additionally it is inherently unethical to discriminate against a person simply because they were born on the other side of an imaginary line.
Our immigration policy has developed into an ad hoc system of discrimination and exploitation that is winked at by the powers that be. To put it plainly it's a corrupt system, an incompetent system, and an ineffective system.
There is no valid justification for continuing it.
