whats the possibility he had someone else in there and left some ID so the cops would think it was him?

My point was that my last driver's license recently expired and I threw it in a campfire pit. It melted in like 30 seconds to total goo. Even the RFID chip was toast later when I went thru the ash.

Maybe California licenses are made out of titanium and fire-proof including the RFID chip and the barcode strips.
