USPS To Cut Saturday Mail Delivery

So I was right, blame all of Congress or we can blame the GOP for being clever and the Democrats for being stupid if you prefer.

It is all about efficiency. In my experience the USPS slaughters the likes of UPS Fedex etc in moving small items around the country. So the question becomes, do we need that level of service. How much really time critical material does the post office move. Is it better to let that truck sit for an extra day rather than run a 400 mile route through rural Kansas half or even a third full. Letting the truck sit means the cost is divided between more profit points, hence reducing the cost of the movement.

Transport companies die from half full trucks. The post office makes an industry of it.

all post office does is on saturday brings me a magazine. almost every other day they just shove trash into my mailbox. i do like my magazine on saturday though, it's nice to be able to read it on the weekend. cest la vie

The USPS gives me an excuse to push my recycle bin out to the curb once a week. I need the exercise.
