Employees have many options if their industry starts to collude. They could unionize, strike, or a competitor could come along and break the lockout for a variety of reasons.

Unions and striking are force. Unless of course the employer can just fire them. Is that the case? Gutless strikes for all wage slaves?

The main objection I have to raising the minimum wage is the circular reaction. Follow along for a second. I'm not saying this is an absolute, but history tends to back me up.

You raise the minimum wage to the perception of a "living wage". Owners of businesses that employ a significant number of minimum wage workers see their profit margins take a hit. They raise prices to compensate. We see a bump in inflation (depends on the impact of the amount and number of raises). Cost of living goes up slightly. Then the buying power of the people affected takes a hit and now we are right back to square one.

Am I wrong?

So, like all those businesses that decided to ship their jobs overseas because the minimum wage was much cheaper there. MUCH cheaper.

What happened to: "I'm going to make the best products and have the best employees which I will get because I pay the most and this will put my competitors out of business"?
