To be fair, I'd be worried about getting capped for saying something that offends the wrong person. The Supreme Court already gets enough death threats; allowing people to see it's inner workings is only going to increase the number of threats, and consequently, the chances of someone following through with it.
That being said, transparency is still more important, given the low risk of such a threat actually coming to fruition.
