The more I think about it, the more I'm convinced the future of journalism will rely upon independents who survive on direct donations. The problem with corporate media is that they need the scandal to survive, and so they focus on meaningless shit like this, rather than the more mundane but more important backroom threats that determine the course of our governments.

I've always gotten the impression that Woodward is pretty fond of himself and not shy about getting attention in the media.
Journalists with bloated egos do have a tendency to be more interested in being the story rather than delivering the story. All fame whores have that in common.
