Yeah...fast food isn't that cheap anymore. Dollar menu sure...but everything else is overpriced. I can go buy ground beef, cheddar cheese, and buns for a little over what I'd pay for a single fast food meal. And it'd feel me over several days or many people at once.

But, as Eynon pointed out, YOU can, not the poor necessarily. If one can't get there, or one has to pay too much too get there, they can't get it or the savings will be lost in transportation costs.

I certainly don't live in a poor area but our local (3 blocks away) grocery store burned down in 2005 and hasn't been rebuilt (long story).

What that leaves is: CVS, Walgreen's, 7-Eleven and a bodega or two. Good luck finding healthy choices in those outlets. So you can imagine what it's like in poor neighborhoods where even those choices aren't available (save for probably the bodega).

Anyway, back to the topic--the idea that there can't be poor fat people is childishly absurd.
