I certainly don't live in a poor area but our local (3 blocks away) grocery store burned down in 2005 and hasn't been rebuilt (long story).
What that leaves is: CVS, Walgreen's, 7-Eleven and a bodega or two. Good luck finding healthy choices in those outlets. So you can imagine what it's like in poor neighborhoods where even those choices aren't available (save for probably the bodega).
Anyway, back to the topic--the idea that there can't be poor fat people is childishly absurd.
