Back to the OP, since I can't get that phrase out of my mind, no matter how many times I read it--and what a stunning admission that is.

How do you think the American public would react if, say, our leaders said:

-China is too big to defend against
-AQ is too elusive to defend against

In other words, we're powerless to stop them.

Yet that is exactly what Holder is saying.

Aha but that's just it: I'm sure if you asked most Americans who an "enemy of the state" is, AQ would rank #1 on the list and China would at least rank as a potential one.

Ask them about TBTF banks though and they're probably going to say "Whaa? Huh? Who?"

Not to be too cynical here, but it used to be public opinion meant: "Public that then pressures their representatives to act on their behalf."

Seeing that our congress now exists to act on the behalf of Wall St. and other industry, it appears that what the public thinks is irrelevant.

Only when we all get reamed even worse by these cats will the public then probably turn into an angry mob--but by then will it be too late?
