Oh I apologize then, I was conflating you with the skeptical on vaccination arguement. As far as vaccination of HPV for "children" (even though it's pretty obvious to everyone that a lot of these children engage in sexual intercourse with each other before they are legally of age) I don't have a dog in that hunt. As minors they are under the care of their parents or legal guardian, and I think there is already precedent in the US to deny potentialy life saving medical procedures to children based on religious grounds alone, much less something non life-threatening like an STD. Although I think HPV can lead to cancer, particularly for women?

So, given that HPV is the primary cause of this sort of cancer...where is the problem with trying to prevent that outcome?

The Cali law doesn't force anyone to take HPV vaccines. It simply allows minors to do so without parental consent, which I'm fine with.
