Well, consider that there is using emotion as an argument, like saying "we have to ban guns because they kill children and it's just too sad."

And there is becoming emotional or responding emotionally, such as with passion or anger.

Using emotion as an argument, like fear or sadness, is the flawed use of emotion for making laws.

I don't mind people pointing out the emotional impacts, but I don't like that they completely ignore the numerical impacts.

It is sad when children die to guns, but the number of children dying to assault weapons is much less than those who die in preventable accidents. I'm not a fan of focusing our time and money on the 50 when the 5000 are ignored.

It also bothers me when people focus on gun violence and ignore other violence. Violence is the problem. Unless the means to violence substantially increases violence, it is irrelevant.

Yes, it is violence that is the issue.

But one might get the impression that if guns were completely eliminated, violence would still not be the focal point.

I see no forth coming plan or goal from the anti gun side other than to eliminate guns.

Jobs seem to cure violence. maybe one of those new fangled free market ideas might work.

Move that Colt factory to the middle of a stressed area and let's see what happens. Conn doesn't seem to want those jobs anymore, so move it to Detroit.

If all the guns, knives, bows, etc and the knowledge to make them just vanished, my guess is within five minutes someone would be killed with a rock or club.
