G20 was a disgrace. Absolutely. The police have changed and you can no loner expect the 'friendly cop' that would help you out or send you home if you were too drunk. that day is gone. I've been saying exactly that for some time. We have no argument there. Not sure we do have an argument at all.

With this evidence that we agree on, I'm finding less evidence of a reason for a divide between you and me. I just don't see your basis. I've never been in favor of taking a beating or been very fond of cops. Respect them, yes. but not when they don't respect me or my rights. And I agree they do not. I was on the periphery of the Ian Thomson case and got a fairly close look at the injustice system. It stinks and it is corrupt as hell.

Another reason for US wealth and industry after WWII, was that most of the rest of the industrial world was destroyed. The US could still function normally and had no bombed out cities or thousands and thousands of bodies to bury.
