Former athletes announcing they are gay has happened before. This includes the NBA with Ameci.

It matters more because he is still an active player. That has yet to have happened.

I think Charles Barkley has said it best tonight. Every athlete knows they've played with gay people and for the most part they don't care; athletes are inclusive in their teams, but it's different for the public.

Yeah, Im with fstar, I dont see what the big deal is, people come out as gay all the time.

Now on the other hand, if a major sports athlete came out as a pedophile and asked for acceptance then that would be a big deal.
