You don't seem to quite understand this argument. Of course some people vote on social issue and some people vote on economic issues. Most voters can be broken down into issue categories. What i am saying is that the republican party has backed itself into a corner where they cannot gain any new voters, without alienating current voters. The democrats gain new voters just through population growth. The republicans are on the wrong side of that demographic bomb, and their currently platform and the intensity of their base bakes it so any policy change they make to attract new voters, will drive some of their current voters into the arms of democrats.
You arn't really making an argument now, you are just speculating. You don't like the argument Im putting forth so you keep coming up with undefined reasons why i may be wrong or things that may not be taken into account, instead of rebutting anything or making salient points of your own. Many of the issues you bring up are tangential or as a result of you misinterpreting or misreading my argument in the first place. If you want to keep this going i suggest you come up with specific reasons why my argument is not the case, instead of just assuming there must be something im missing, or misinterpriting my argument.
