The Wot gave us an excuse to go from being the world's policeman to the world's bully.
Personally I didn't like our role as world's cop. It got old and expensive. After the USSR fell IMO it wasn't needed anymore..
But I HATE the role of world's bully.. We're better than this..

Ending the war on terror is as simple as adopting a non-imperialistic foreign policy.

The USSR had a lot to do with our foreign policy too..
The USSR truly was an evil empire..We had to be the counter-balance, especially after WWII.. Stalin was a paranoid maniac who had to be controlled, and after the war there was no other country that could stop him.. But they're long gone now.. We don't need to have 100's of military bases all over the world now. We no longer need to spend a trillion $'s on defense...
The USSR was 100 times more dangerous to our security and way of life then any of these 'terror organizations'.. But thanks to the propaganda from the MIC, and their mouthpiece politicians you'd never know it.
