Obama to end the War on Terror?

I don't think the WoT will ever end. The only thing that will end will be large occupations. Our CIA, FBI and special forces will be very active over the coming decades to ensure that terrorist groups don't achieve the prior success they have had. Instead of the war on terror being about Afghanistan and Iraq and other major players, it will be scaled down and treated like a nuisance than large scale events. We probably won't ever hear about half of the work our intelligence services do on our turf or overseas.

When we look at the WHOLE package, comparing the US, to the USSR is like when idiots compared Bush to Hitler, or the morons NOW who compare Obama, or Clinton to Hitler.

Mistakes were made by us during the cold war.. Mistakes are being made now..Serious, awful mistakes. I criticize those mistakes now, and then.

But it is foolishness to put us on the level of atrocities with what Stalin and Mao and many of those dictators.

Without USSR backing, involvement and supplies/arms Korea, Vietnam, and many other satellite wars would have never started in the 1st place.

Again, I never have, nor will I defend all our moves and decisions..Some are indefensible. BUT most of the time during the cold war it was the USSR stirring the pot.

But hey, if you and anyone else wants to revise history so you can compare the US, with Stalin, and Mao and other dictators.... Be my guest.
