You know what's so weird and I'll make this an open question: remember the S&L scandal in the 80s? There were literally thousands indictments in that one, and some high-profile figures were scandalized (e.g., The Keating Five).
That, financially, was a drop in the bucket compared to what happened in 2008. And not one CEO has even been indicted.
What changed?
