@ the Dole thing. I'm beginning to think that this is part of their plan. Get a bunch of "former" GOPers to stand up and say the party is broken. Then, "fix" it (which will really be just a repackaging of the same-ole same-ole) and declare that it's the New GOP. But, it's still the Grand Old Party.
@ the climate change thing. Standing up and saying that we're killing the earth is going to motivate roughly 0.01% of the population. OK, perhaps 1%. Or 5%. But, not enough to do anything about it. Unless you make environmental care fit into the "me, now" mentality, you may as well be s4!tting upstream.
For instance, even the best electric cars are only "as good" as gas-powered cars, but they cost 3x as much. And, the median electric cars are simply sub par (and cost 2x as much). Make them better, and even a gearhead like me will buy one.
But, like most people, I'm not about to give up going 0-80 in under 5 seconds just to drive an electric car.
